Seaton
Seaton is a small village located at the bottom of the tree-filled Hessenford valley. The Seaton River flows down the valley and meets the sea at Seaton Beach. The south west facing sandy beach provides easy launching when there is low swell. Launching gives good access to the reefs and sandbanks within Whitsand Bay. Strong tides can flow across Whitsand Bay on spring tides.
Parking: 2 car parks and some road-side parking is located at the top of the beach. Access to the beach is easy, although it can be a long walk to the waters edge at low tide. The river flowing down the beach can be used to float the kayak down to the sea to make things easier!
Species: Pollack, Wrasse and Big bass are possible around the reefs found in Whitsand Bay. Bull Huss are possible of fishing at anchor over broken ground. Gurnards, Plaice and Dabs may show to drift fished baits over clean ground. Mackerel and Garfish can be caught in season.
